Most unexpectedly, after having not played live for 16 years, Universal Order of Armageddon (U.O.A.), with VERY short notice, recently played two sold out shows in July 2010: one in Baltimore at the Whartscape Festival, and a second at Death By Audio in Brooklyn N.Y. with No Age. In the final planning stages of this most recent Whartscape (by the Wham City collective) Dan Deacon asked if U.O.A. would consider playing, not expecting an affirmative answer. Nonetheless, within a few days the unexpected came together.

Universal Order of Armageddon was formed in 1992 when Brooks Headley and Tonie Joy began collaborating to create a new band. Soon Colin Seven and Anthony Scott Malat joined, and by late 1992, U.O.A. was playing live all over the east coast and preparing to document their first set of songs to tape. By late 1994 U.O.A. had recorded a second set of songs, completed two full U.S.tours (as well as numerous east coast dates), and released records on the Kill Rock Stars, Gravity, Jade Tree, and Vermin Scum record labels, all before abruptly going dormant. Tentative plans are to record a new LP and continue playing live shows when possible.
